Two Whole Months

My funny, happy, sweet baby Petra is two months old. We did the shots (which hurt me more than they hurt her, I'm sure of it) and now the hard part of being two months old is over. On to the good stuff... the kisses and smiles and peek-a-boo games. I'm so glad to have a girl. Ever since we were pregnant with our boy Corbin and were told during the ultrasound that we would be having a girl (didn't turn out that way, as you might have guessed) I've wanted one. Now we have one. Finally. And she's wonderful.

The Dress

OK... I made this the other day for my two month old sweet girl, and I must say that I'm more than a little pleased with myself. It's incredibly cute, fits her perfectly, I made my own pattern, figured it out, and I actually did it! And it really didn't take very long (bonus). I used to be terrified to use my sewing machine and would go to my mother in law's house so that she could walk me through my sewing projects. But now, thanks to Google, I have learned enough to fly on my own. Mistakes are made, but that's how I learn best. Unfortunate in the general scheme of things, but in my sewing ventures it is perfect. I'll just keep on sewing. It's a very rewarding thing... and I'm glad I'm not as horrible at it as I used to be. That makes it all the more fun. :)

Danger Mouse + Sparklehorse + David Lynch = awesome.

Check it out. Please. It'll make your day better. That is, if you like good music and stuff. NPR has it.

50 things, 3 days

That's it. There's far too much junk around here. It's sprawled on the floor, stacked on the desk, lying all over the bookshelves. It's going away. I simply won't have it. Over the next three days, fifty things are leaving. We'll see how that goes. I can't handle all the stuff. I feel like a materialistic American. Well, let us change that. Starting... now.
